Savannah Real Estate Owners Delight in Vibrant Arts and Entertainment Scene

Savannah real estate owners enjoy a vibrant arts and entertainment scene and the city's many cultural offerings through its museums, art centers, theaters, galleries and festivals.

The Telfair Museum of Art is located on historic Barnard Street in downtown Savannah, Georgia. Three buildings make up the Telfair, two of which are National Historic Landmarks. The buildings are the historic Telfair Academy of Arts and Sciences, the historic Owens-Thomas House, and the contemporary Jepson Center, which opened to the public in March 2006. Visitors to the Telfair enjoy educational resources, gallery exhibits, sculpture gardens and more.

Savannah, Georgia's extensive list of museums include the Mercer Williams House Museum (songwriter Johnny Mercer), Girl Scouts founder Juliette Gordon Low House, the Ralph Mark Gilbert Civil Rights Museum, Roundhouse Railroad Museum, the Ships of the Sea Maritime Museum and the Mighty Eighth Air Force Museum in neighboring Pooler.

One cannot consider Savannah, Georgia, entertainment without mentioning the Savannah’s St. Patrick’s Day celebration. Savannah’s St. Patrick’s Day party is the second largest event of its kind in the country. The parade marked its 183rd year in 2007, with 350 entries, 50 bands and an estimated 700,000 people attending.

Other annual events among the Savannah, Georgia, entertainment scene include Oktoberfest on River Street, the Savannah Folk Music Society’s Folkfest in City Market, Savannah Blues Festival and stage shows such as Annie, Cats and Hairspray at the Savannah Civic Center

The Jewish Food Festival, Savannah Greek Festival, NOGS (North of Gaston Street) Tour of Homes and Gardens, First Saturdays on River Street are other highly anticipated annual events in Savannah.
